I come from a construction family, 3rd generation carpenter: my father and grandfather both worked in construction.

I started my career as carpenter in 1978, as an apprentice. I worked in many construction projects from small residential, through large residential, light commercial, to high rise form work.

My forte has been remodeling: taking something that needs work to something I and my clients are pleased with.

Steffenson Carpentry was established in 1985, in the Minneapolis area, and there are many satisfied clients there. Tired with traffic and urban sprawl, I migrated to Bayfield in 2000, and have been working on new "green " homes and remodeling projects here.

I built my first green home in 1991 and still keep in touch with the clients, and they still love their house!

I built my own green home, a lifelong dream, in the hills outside of Bayfield in 2002. I am off grid: a 1.4 KW solar array powers my home and shop.I now have a domestic solar hot water system as well.
